Philadelphia Gymnastics Center’s Competitive Team: The Mannettes

The Mannettes competitive gymnastics team includes both the Women’s Development program (Levels 3-10) and the Xcel Program (Xcel Silver-Xcel Sapphire) who compete under the sanction of USA Gymnastics (USAG). The Mannettes have won many state, regional, and national team titles and individual team members have won local, state, regional, national, and international championship titles. Mannettes team members have also competed as members of the U.S. World Championship, U.S. Pan American, and U.S. Olympic Teams

Criteria for membership includes skill level, discipline, attitude, time commitment, and parental support. Membership on the Mannettes is by invitation only, but if you are interested in learning more or being considered, please contact us at office@philadelphiagymnastics.com.

Mini-Mannettes and Pre-Team

Mini-Mannettes (ages 4–5) and Pre-Team (ages 5–7), gymnasts who are ready for a challenge beyond recreational classes can begin preparing for the competitive team. Athletes meet 2–3 times per week to develop their skills. Invitations to Mini-Mannettes and Pre-Team are based on a gymnast’s work in recreational classes, along with their readiness for the commitment and skill progression of pre-competitive training.  If you are interested in learning more or being considered, please contact us at office@philadelphiagymnastics.com.

XCEL Team

The Xcel Program was developed to provide an opportunity for recreational gymnasts to compete while still having time for other sports or activities. Our Xcel athletes train fewer hours than those in the DP program, but still have the opportunity to participate in USAG-sanctioned competitions, making it the perfect option for those looking for a more flexible team commitment. Our Xcel Program includes Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Sapphire levels. At all levels, unique routines are choreographed to complement the strengths of each gymnast. Developmental Program (DP)

The Mannettes Development Program (DP) consists of athletes ages 5–18 who compete at Levels 3–10. DP athletes compete in both local and out-of-state meets each year, often advancing to regional, state, and national championship meets.  In the early levels, gymnasts focus on building strong fundamentals in the Compulsory Program before progressing to more advanced skills in the Optional Levels. Athletes who advance beyond Level 10 may move on to the Elite level of competition.

Compulsory
The Compulsory levels consist of Levels 3 and 4 at PGC. These levels focus on continuing to strengthen and perfect basic skills that will help the gymnast be successful in the optional levels. Level 3 and 4 gymnasts are given opportunities to qualify for State Level competitions.  If you are interested in learning more or being considered, please contact us at office@philadelphiagymnastics.com.
Optional
The Optional levels (Levels 6–10) are considered the upper levels of gymnastics. Level 6 gymnasts can compete through the State Championship Meet. Levels 7 and 8 offer the opportunity to advance to the State and Regional Championship Meet, while Levels 9 and 10 can qualify for State, Regional, and National Championship Meets. After completing Level 10, a gymnast may attempt to qualify for the Elite/Olympic level.  If you are interested in learning more or being considered, please contact us at office@philadelphiagymnastics.com.
